Internet speed in German cities (end of Q3 2025)

We analyzed internet speeds in 136 cities across Germany for home broadband, and in 60 cities for mobile internet, as of the end of Q3 2025*.
Between Q2 and Q3 2025, the average home internet speed in Germany increased by 7% (from 95.6 to 102 Mb/s), while the average mobile internet speed rose by 9% (from 65.1 to 70.7 Mb/s).
According to SpeedGeo data, Vodafone continues to dominate urban cable and fiber networks, while in the mobile segment, T-Mobile remains the undisputed leader, achieving the best results in 75% of the surveyed locations.
Gotha – the city with the fastest home internet in Germany (182.3 Mb/s)
Differences in internet speed between cities remain significant. The highest result was recorded in Gotha (182.3 Mb/s), where the fastest provider was Telekom, achieving 234.1 Mb/s, while the lowest speed was observed in Alsdorf, with just 51.7 Mb/s. Once again, the data confirms that the fastest internet is found in small and medium-sized German cities with populations between 30,000 and 110,000 residents. The first city with over 500,000 inhabitants appears only in 36th place (Frankfurt, 122.3 Mb/s), and the first city with over one million residents ranks 38th (Munich, 121.6 Mb/s).
Vodafone remains the fastest provider in 70% of the analyzed cities (95 out of 136), while PYUR leads in 15 cities, including major hubs such as Berlin and Munich.

Beckum – the city with the fastest mobile internet in Germany (209 Mb/s)
The average mobile internet speed at the end of Q3 2025 reached 70.7 Mb/s. As in Q2 2024, the highest speed in the country was recorded in Beckum (208.9 Mb/s), where the fastest provider was T-Mobile, achieving 257.1 Mb/s. Just like with home internet, the fastest mobile connections are available in smaller cities. T-Mobile was the speed leader in 45 out of 60 analyzed cities.
