Sharp Drop in Internet Speed in Iran
June 23, 2025
Israel's attack on Iran began during the night of June 12 to 13. According to data from the measurement platform SpeedGeo.net, until June 12, 2025, internet download speeds in Iran were stable — approximately 25 Mbps for home internet and 36 Mbps for mobile internet.
Starting June 15, internet traffic has been heavily restricted, and download speeds have dropped 2 to 3 times, down to 10–15 Mbps.
This likely underestimates the scale of the issue, as the number of speed tests also declined significantly, suggesting that users are experiencing broader difficulties accessing the internet — or at least certain applications. Latency levels have also doubled during this period.
